Cameras Roll On The Tall Man

The Tall Man is officially here.

Shooting for the feature film kicked off this week in Ymir and Salmo, and film producer Clement Miserez says the shoot should move into Nelson by mid-October.

Lead actress Jessica Biel — spotted around Nelson over the past week — is on set, and Miserez says she’s already working on some dramatic moments.

“We are filming a chase in the forest right now, with Jessica Biel running into the forest,” he says, adding the crew is currently shooting at night to up the thriller-factor.

Crews are already working on the building, constructing sets and aging portions of the closed hospital to give it a more abandoned look. Miserez says much of the crew was hired locally, with about 40 area residents contributing to the film behind the scenes. Another 100 Kootenay residents were cast in background roles and approximately 20 more landed speaking parts.

Filming on The Tall Man is expected to continue into November.

Producers have said Biel will remain in the region for most of the shoot, but shot down rumors that the star’s beau Justin Timberlake is in the area as well.
