Nelson Curling Club ready to rock new season
The Nelson Curling Club is getting ready to open its doors to what looks to be an exciting season.
With the success of the men’s and ladies curling teams at the recent Olympics, there has been new and renewed interest in this sport and the club is ready to welcome new and returning curlers. Plans are in place for new programs, opportunities for people to learn how to curl, ice time for private rentals, and adapted equipment for curlers with physical challenges.
The season begins on October 12 with four nights of open curling, along with trained instructors available to provide beginner lessons for new and returning curlers, at no charge. The club will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. for drop ins and it is recommended that you wear loose fitting clothing and bring clean running shoes.
The Nelson Curling Club is located at 302 Cedar Street so come join a fun, social and supportive, recreational atmosphere.
